Joe Biden tripped and fell this Thursday while attending an event in Colorado. The US president was on stage at the graduation ceremony at the US Air Force Academy in Colorado when he crashed.
“He’s fine,” White House communications officer Ben LaBolt said on Twitter.
Images of the fall of the American head of state are already circulating on the internet.
The 80-year-old US president, who spoke at the ceremony, stood on stage for about an hour and a half to greet the 921 cadets, the BBC reports. Returning to his seat, he tripped on a sandbag and fell.
Air Force officers helped him to his feet and, already on his feet, pointed to where there would be a bag of sand that caused him to trip and fall.
The White House communications director assured Joe Biden “is fine.” “There was a sandbag on stage” as he greeted the cadets, Ben LaBolt explained.
After the fall and return to its place, the ceremony ended.
At 80, Biden is the oldest US president and has already announced his candidacy for a second term in the White House in the 2024 election.
