The United States knew that Ukraine had plans to attack the Nord Stream pipelines

Three months before the destruction of the two Nord Stream pipelines, the United States of America was informed of Ukraine’s plans to attack these infrastructures. the information was advance by the Washington Postciting classified CIA documents revealed by Jack Teixeira.

These documents show that the data was collected by an espionage service in a European country, which the newspaper does not identify so as not to put people and operations at risk.

Already in June last year, Washington warned Germany and other European countries, which despite the information blamed Russia for the attacks.

The report given to US intelligence has very specific details, such as the number of Ukrainian agents that made up the small team and the attack methods that could be used. It also reveals that those involved reported directly to the Chief of Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, who was put in charge so that the President would not know of the operation. By keeping Zelensky out, the military gave him the ability, without lying, to deny his involvement in an attack that could compromise Western support.

The secret European report affirms that the military operation ended up being suspended for unknown reasons, but the German security forces that were investigating the attacks assure that there are many similarities between what happened in September (the explosions) and what Ukraine was planning.

The Kiev army planned to send a team of six special operations soldiers who, using false identities, wanted to rent a boat and then use a submersible to dive to the bottom of the Baltic Sea and damage or destroy gas pipelines.

Following investigations, the Germans believe that six men with false passports chartered a yacht in the country, planted and detonated the explosives that disrupted gas flow at Nord Stream 1 and damaged Nord Stream 2, which never came online.

Investigators found traces of the explosives used in the yacht’s cabin and were able to link the Ukrainian citizens to the yacht charter.

The Washington Post further reveals that, after holding Russia responsible, some elements in the Biden administration are now privately admitting there is no evidence of Moscow’s involvement.

Publicly, the United States and some European countries refuse, however, to make accusations against Ukraine for fear that this could weaken the Western alliance of support for kyiv.
