Christ the Redeemer holding the moon. The perfect picture that lasted three years

A photo of Christ the Redeemer “holding” the moon has gone viral on the internet in recent days. The moment was captured by Leonardo Sens, born in Niterói (RJ), who spent three years preparing the moment.

The photo was taken in the early morning of the 4th, on the beach of Icaraí, in Niterói, about 11 kilometers from Corcovado, where the famous statue stands. To achieve this, the photographer studied the moon’s position to calculate the exact moment when it would align with Christ the Redeemer.

“I already knew what time of year the moon was aligned with Christ and using applications I found out the times and the exact date,” he said, quoted by Globo.

But more work was needed, as it was necessary to be aware of the weather so that there were no clouds at this time. “In the end everything went well and I was able to take the long-awaited picture,” he said with satisfaction.

Leonardo Sens, who always loved to photograph images of nature, became a professional in 2005 and shares his work on social networks. For example, on Instagram, he has more than 30,000 followers.

And this last work of his deserved a lot of praise. “My God! What a piece of art! Exciting!” one follower wrote.
