The mother of the four children who was found on Friday after surviving 40 days in the Colombian jungle is still alive four days after the plane crash on May 1, the father announced on Sunday.
“The only thing Lesly (eldest daughter) told me was that her mother lived for four days and before she died she said to them: ‘Go away so you can find your father,'” Manuel Miller Ranoque told the press , next to the military hospital in Bogota, where children from the Huitoto community have been hospitalized since Saturday for testing and recovery.
Lesly (13 years old), Soleiny (9), Tien Noriel (5) and Cristin (1) were found alive in the middle of the Amazon jungle in the south of the country, 5 km from the scene of the accident, in which three adult crew members died.
Magdalena Mucutuy, the children’s mother, and an indigenous leader are fatalities, as is the pilot, although the military who participated in the rescue of the children have not yet indicated where their bodies were.
It is recalled that more than 100 soldiers and indigenous people of the region, supported by sniffer dogs, followed the trail of the children, walking through the jungle, until they found them.
