This Saturday the roads will continue to be very difficult, as many French people will set off at the end of their summer holidays. Traffic will also be heavy on Sunday and Monday in the return direction, with orange days. Important difficulties are observed on Monday in the Parisian region, between the return to work for many and the last return from the holidays. The day of August 28 is classified as red in Île-de-France.
A difficult day on the main roads.
This Saturday will be difficult in all regions (for detailed forecasts, click here). Bison Futé foresees, in particular, big traffic jams on the A7, “in both directions of traffic”. “In the direction of return, the A10 between Bordeaux and Poitiers and the A9 between Narbonne and Montpellier should also register strong disturbances,” the organization specifies in its statement.
In the Paris region, Bison Futé recommends crossing or joining the region before 2:00 p.m. Daytime traffic should be avoided on the country’s main highways. Avoid the following:
- the N165 motorway between Quimper and Nantes, from 10 am to 12 noon,
- the A10 motorway between Bordeaux and Orleans, from 10 am to 7 pm,
- the A63 motorway between Spain and Bayonne between 11 a.m. and 10 p.m.,
- the A7 motorway between Marseille and Lyon between 10:00 and 00:00,
- the A8 motorway between Nice and Aix-en-Provence from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.,
- the A9 motorway between Narbonne and Montpellier from 9 am to 4 pm.
Access to France through the Mont-Blanc tunnel (N205) will be dense from 10 am to 10 pm.
In the sense of departures, the Parisian region should be avoided after 10 am, just like the big cities. Traffic will also be loaded on the N165 national highway between Nantes and Quimper between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., the A7 motorway between Lyon and Marseille between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., the A61 motorway between Toulouse and Narbonne between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. . Access to Italy through the Mont-Blanc tunnel (N205) will be dense between 10 am and 6 pm, specifies Bison Futé.
A red Monday in Île-de-France
On Sunday and Monday they will be classified in orange in the sense of laps (all forecasts can be found here). Traffic will be heavy especially from the beginning of the afternoon on the A10. But it is in the Parisian region where the situation will be very difficult, with a day classified in red in Île-de-France. Bison Futé foresees, in particular, intense traffic on “the radials at the gates of Paris to access the Boulevard Périphérique and on the ring roads (A86 and Boulevard Périphérique) that allow access to the A3 and A1 motorways to the north of France”.
