Social leasing: find offers from each manufacturer

The government launched the “electric lease” at the beginning of the year. Manufacturers are playing the game by offering different offers on their basic models, but some are waiting to know if other files can be validated beyond the quota set at 25,000 for 2024.

An electric transition for everyone: this is the government’s wish with social leasing. A campaign promise of Emmanuel Macron in 2022 that has become a reality since the beginning of 2024.

Strict criteria

100% electric models are in the program, with rentals of less than 100 euros per month for city cars and less than 150 euros per month for family cars. A rental without contribution that, however, does not include insurance, vehicle maintenance or the installation of a charging station at home.

To benefit from this aid for workers with modest incomes, several conditions must be met:

  • a reference tax income per share of less than 15,400 euros (50% of the assets according to the government),
  • live at least 15 kilometers per year from your workplace,
  • He travels 8,000 kilometers a year as part of his professional activity.

Officially, 25,000 files were to be granted in 2024. But, given the success of the system, the government has several times raised the possibility of increasing this quota to 40,000 files. For his part, the Minister of Energy Transition, Christophe Béchu, indicated at the beginning of the week that 35,000 firm offers had been made to clients, but without knowing if these files could be attended to.
