On Saturday afternoon, there were around 1,000 kilometres of traffic jams, a day that Bison Futé classified as red “in the return direction” throughout the country. By midday, traffic jams had reached 1,037.5 kilometres, according to the Bison Futé website.
In its forecast map, Bison Futé has classified the day in black for the Great West and in red for the rest of the country. In a statement, the traffic information centre warned that “in the direction of exits, traffic will be heavy on all axes, throughout the day.”
“Difficulties could arise in the direction of Normandy (mainly A13), the north-west regions (A84, N165, A11) and Spain (A10, A63),” he said.
Sunday classified red
Motorists should also be careful “on motorways crossing the Massif Central (A75), the Rhône Valley (A7) and the Mediterranean coast (A9)”, as their journeys could be considerably slowed down, according to Bison Futé. On the return journey, “traffic will be very heavy from early morning to late afternoon, with departures from the western regions (A10 and A11 in particular) and from the Mediterranean coast (A7, A8 and A9)”, according to the site.
Bison Futé also warns motorists of a “constant” wait at the tolls in Île-de-France. The information centre also classified Sunday as red.
