“The enemy’s progress stops”: Kyiv claims to have assumed the oriental villages where Moscow had succeeded in an advance

The Ukrainian army announced Friday that he had occupied six villages in a region where Kremlin forces have made an advance in recent days.

The Ukrainian army announced this Friday, August 15, after having approached six villages in an Eastern Strategic Sector of Ukraine, of which the Russian units had been assumed in recent days, during a particularly fast advance.

This announcement occurs on the day of the meeting between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, in Alaska. The command of the Ukrainian army has announced that “the advance of the enemy (had been) arrested” for his troops in the last three days.

At the beginning of the week, the Russian soldiers had successful in a flash advance in a particularly important area of the East Front, between the cities of Pokrovsk and Dobropillia, in the Donetsk region.

Russian advance contained in a narrow corridor

The Ukrainian command said Friday that the position of six villages had been made, citing the towns of Grouzké, Roubijné, Novodiané, Petrivka, Vesselé and Zoloty Kolodiaz.

This Ukrainian advance was also mentioned by the Deepstate military analysis site, near the Ukrainian army, which has an updated map of the front.

His statements, such as those of the Russian army, are difficult to verify independently due to active fights. The small villages cited by the Ukraine command are in a key area, because it is crossed by a road that connects important cities in the region and, therefore, widely used for Ukrainian logistics.

The Russian advance, although fast, remained contained in a narrow corridor, and was the fact of small infiltration groups of the Russian army, according to kyiv. Moscow troops, more numerous and better equipped, maintain the advantage in the front and still threaten several important Ukrainian cities, including Pokrovsk and Dobropillia. Previously, on Friday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the deployment of reinforcements in eastern Ukraine.
