While it’s fairly common to see a law enforcement vehicle being driven off to the impound lot on a tow truck… it’s pretty rare for the vehicle in question to actually be a tow truck.

Yet this is what happened last week, as the Isère Gendarmerie reported on Facebook, by sharing a photo of a tow truck transporting a car… securely attached to another tow truck.
“The driver of a tow truck, who showed up in the middle of the 3 Massifs de l’A48 to tow a broken-down vehicle, was stopped by the gendarmes of the motorised platoon of the Isère gendarmerie. The latter, without a licence, was stopped, fined and his tow truck seized,” we can read in this post.
In the comment, one user seems to doubt the good “axle load distribution on the white truck”, with “too much weight on the rear axle” which can make “steering more than random”.
If the police don’t seem to have cared about this, we can only hope that the driver of the second tow truck was up to date.
