Diesel prices rose last week. The most widely consumed fuel in France averaged 1.6117 euros per litre, an increase of 0.2 cents.
A very slight increase that, however, puts an end to 6 consecutive weeks of decline, according to the weekly report published by the Ministry of Ecological Transition.
The price of petrol has continued to fall for the seventh consecutive week. Unleaded 95-E10 sold for an average of 1.7077 euros per litre, down one cent compared to the previous week.
We have to go back to December 2022 to find petrol prices at this level. A period in which fuels benefited from a government discount of 10 cents, as well as a 10 cent discount offered by Totalenergies. A discount of up to 20 cents which ended on 1 January 2023.
Amid forecasts of slow global growth, crude oil prices are currently remaining at relatively low levels.
Last week, a barrel of North Sea Brent crude lost $4.2 to $76.7.
