The head of the Israeli opposition, Yair Lapid, called on Tuesday, August 12 on Tuesday, August 12, a solidarity strike with Israeli hostages in Gaza next Sunday, joining the first calls to this sense of families of captives.

“It was the families who asked for it and (…) this is a sufficient reason,” he added.
On August 10, around twenty parents of hostages requested a general strike next Sunday, and Monday, the Hostage Families Forum, the main organization that represents relatives of the captives, called to “put the country” on that date, in a press release.
In the immediate future, they could not convince the main Israeli union, historian. The power plant decided “not to stop the economy at this stage”, but will argue “the manifestations of solidarity of the workers” that day, according to the forum.
“Authorize the strike of Citizens, from the base to the top. Allow everyone to take a day off next Sunday,” he launched for employers, once again denouncing a sacrifice of the hostages “at the altar of an endless war, aimlessly and without a goal.”
49 hostages, including 27 dead, arrested in Gaza
Among the 251 hostages captured by Hamas in Israel, on October 7, 2023, 49 remain arrested in Gaza, of which 27 died, according to the Israeli army.
