Paris, Lyon, Burgundy: where are the breaks in gas stations?

While the situation appears to be improving nationally, refueling difficulties persist, particularly in the Paris region, around Lyon and in Bourgogne Franche-Comté as the end of the All Saints holidays approaches.

In some regions of France it is still difficult to refuel this Wednesday, November 2. The map put online by the mon-essence.fr site (Essence&Co app) was still largely covered with indicators of partially depleted stations (at least one fuel is missing) or completely depleted (no fuel available).

By their count, there were still 2,425 stations in partial outage, 761 stations in total outage, or about 29% of the French network still in difficulty as of midday Wednesday.

With the search engine below, you can find out if the stations in your area are sold out or not, based on the data provided by motorists in the Essence&Co application.

Difficulty finding gasoline in the Paris region

A rate of stations in difficulty at the national level that Francis Pousse, president of the branch of service stations and new energies of the Mobilians professional union, considers however overestimated, with replacements that may take time to be well informed in these participatory applications.

“It is calming down a lot, although there are still strong tensions in the Paris region, Burgundy-France County and in Auvergne Rhône-Alpes,” he condescends.

This week, in the Paris region, it remains particularly difficult to find gasoline, while many stations appear to have been refueled with diesel, as BFMTV saw on Wednesday morning.

“This is the consequence of a region that has migrated faster from diesel to gasoline than in the rest of France. However, tanks are often left sized with higher volumes of diesel,” underlines Francis Pousse of Mobilians.

In fact, according to data provided by AAA Data, there are currently 52% gasoline vehicles in Ile-de-France, compared to just 43% nationally.
