A little more prohibition on the one hand, a little more flexibility on the other. While Crit’Air 3 vehicles will be prohibited in the Low Emission Mobility Zone (ZFEm) of Greater Paris from January 1, a system of “ZFEm passes” will also come into force.
And as anticipated at the beginning of October, this pass will allow the Crit’Air 3 but also other categories of vehicles already prohibited (without sticker, Crit’Air 4 and 5) to circulate 24 days a year in the ZFEm. This is confirmed to us by the Métropole du Grand Paris, which specifies that “the platform will go online on January 1, 2025.”
Same system in Lyon
It remains to specify the registration procedures for motorists and the form that the “pass” will take. The Paris City Council had requested the implementation of said pass in the fall.
A similar system has been installed in the Lyon EPZ, called here the “small wheel system”. Authorizes 52 trips per year to owners of Crit’Air 3, 4 or 5 vehicles in the Lyon ZFE.
