This Monday, March 3 marks the kick of the reserved route on the Paris device, but also in the A1 and the A13. Among the objectives shown: to massively reduce “autosolism” on one of the main roads of Paris and the small crown, with also a lot of traffic traffic.
In the peak hours, from 7 am to 10:30 am, after 4 pm to 8 pm, this left route with a large part of the device (from quai d’SSSY to Bercy Porte by the north in both traffic directions) will be reserved for cars that transport the two people.
A way to foster vehicles “fill”, while almost 80% of the users of the Ring Road circulate alone on board, according to the Paris City Council, which also offers an average of 1.24 people per car and even less, 1.10 people per car, for domestic work trips. Which potentially encourages to practice the shared trip.
Carpooling, “a means of mobility in its own right”
A practice that remains precisely to develop Blablacar daily, the variant of the famous travel platform shared on these brief daily trips. And who logically sees this Parisian initiative with a good eye.
“This is good news, but rather of the order of the symbol, with other measures to promote the shared trip,” said Adrien Tahon, director of Blablacar Daily, in BFM Business.
“A few years ago, it would have seemed unimaginable to establish a path of this type. This shows the path traveled in particular from the COVID with the development of the shared shirt and the recognition that it is a means of mobility in its own right, such as public transport,” he continues.
Enough to support the development of this service, which has more than 2.8 million registered in France, with 3.2 million trips in 2024, 30% more compared to the previous year.
A “free” route for navigo subscribers
In île-de-France, the “small crown” area that includes Paris and neighboring departments (Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-Saint-Denis and Val-de-Marne), is not the target heart of Blablacar Daily:
“Most of our activity in the region focuses rather on the trips between the cities of the Grande Couronne (Sena-Et-Marne, Yvelines, Essonne, Val-D’oise) that represent 70% of trips in the region,” explains Adrien Tahon.
Companies where a large majority of employees come by car, which increases the possibility of finding a driver and passengers. Enough to reach up to 25% of people who use this mode of transport in some cases.
The director of Blablacar Daily also highlights the role of the region and the Mobilités of île-de-France to encourage this practice. The opportunity to remember that these trips are “free” for annual, monthly and imaginal subscribers of Naviga. A way also to encourage an alternative solution for public transport sometimes saturated. Without being subscribed, the cost is still much lower than a transport title, with 0.5 euros per route.
On the driver’s side, it is possible to receive between 1.5 and 3 euros per trip and up to 150 euros per month accepting travelers to share.
A return of the expected premium shared travel
A profit perspective that could attract new drivers, even if Blablacar Daily especially regrets the brutal stop of the shared trip bonus.
This state aid of 100 euros established in early 2023 had increased to 50 euros on January 1, 2025 before being arrested since January 31. A bad signal when it was maintained until 2027.
To continue developing, Blablacar Daily intends to continue its agreements with local communities such as agglomeration communities, which can also co -finance trips. The shared travel operator currently has 164 partners of this type, compared to 80 a previous year.
Blablacar Daily is also based on agreements with companies, almost 1,300. A way to eclipse their CSR (social responsibility for business responsibility) and establish internal tools to connect drivers and passengers.
