No indicator, breach of security distances: these behaviors that bother the wheel

Until March 24, the driving week is celebrated. And according to a study by the online insurer Leocare, keeping calm while driving is not the fort of French motorists.

This car that works without seeing the rotation signal, this other that has remained in the national for 10 kilometers or this scooter that has a fire … so many behaviors that are dangerous and bother the French drivers, according to the latest study of the Neo-Assignor Leocare.

82% of the people interviewed recognize the wheel wheel, almost half of which rare on their own in their car, when 8% recognize insults against other users (even if we can assume that they are actually more numerous).

More aggressive driving than before?

While everyone can cite a case of nervousness when it has come to the road, this study was published while being courtesy at the wheel until March 24. Released in 2001 in a simple day by the French association for driving behavior, it extended in 2008 to a week. A sign that we are increasingly annoying in the steering wheel?

“We are not necessarily more aggressive in the steering wheel than before, but there are always reasons to stress on the road, experience assaults compared to other users or be victims of obscene gestures,” says Christophe Ramond, director of studies and research of the road prevention association.

What behaviors lead us more to get out of our hinges? What clearly more annoying:

  • The absence of the use of the rotation signal when turning (44% of those questioned),
  • Failure to comply with security distances (26%),
  • The refusal to give way (19%).

Small speeds in the road code, but that may have serious consequences in terms of road safety.

“Use your turn signal”

Some particularly annoying practices seem to find more resistance in drivers, such as the inopportune use of the horn (10%) or traffic jams that only grow to 13% of the French. So many attacks against intimate space represented by us, Christophe Ramond emphasizes.

“On the way, to stay Zen, it must be attentive to others and, in particular, respect traffic rules, priorities,” continues our expert.

The latter also recommends “communicate, use your turn signal.” “This is the main form of communication along the way, it is really essential for you and others,” said Christophe Ramond.
