The MG records represent 84% of the total park of the Chinese brands identified in France by AAA data, specialist in automotive data.
How many Byd, Leapmotor and Xpeng?
Byd, which has begun a vast offensive for two years in Europe and its Tesla rivals worldwide, logically positioned itself in second place, with 12% of the “Chinese Park” and just over 15,000 vehicles in circulation. Then we found Leapmotor, who has taken advantage of since last year of an association with the Stellantis group for his marketing outside China, with just over 3,000 units.
With almost 2,600 units in circulation, Xpeng realizes that promising beginnings only through only two models currently without its G6 and G9 range. Above all, the brand has just announced the beginning of its production in Europe, therefore, Damant The Pawn in Byd, which must soon open its first factory in our continent.
In total, according to AAA data figures arrested on August 31, but complemented by the numbers in September, there are a total of 122,989 models of these four Chinese brands currently in circulation in France.
The most present Chinese models in France
With this advance taken by MG, it is logically the MG4, which is the most represented Chinese brand model. This model, a 100% 100% electric compact from the Renault Mégane Te-Tech, had been very successful when it was launched in 2023, still enjoying the ecological bonus before excluding almost all the models produced in Europe with the implementation of the environmental score.

If we observe sales from the beginning of 2025, from the beginning of January to the end of September, MG is still the best located, even if the competition points to the tip of its nose much more clearly. The MG ZS (8,617 units) is ahead of the MG3 (6,699 units), far ahead of the Seal Byd (3,452 units). After other MG (EHS, MG4) models we find the first jump in the sixth place (1,704 units) and the XPEng G6 in the seventh place (1,588 units).
