Fuel subsidy: the aid of 100 euros is paid from this Friday

The fuel bonus of 100 euros, which is intended to replace the discounts at pumps, is paid from this Friday. Seven million motorists can still apply.

The French who have requested it will receive their fuel allowance of 100 euros starting this Friday, January 27. Established on January 16, this aid aims to help 10 million French workers who have no choice but to use their vehicle in a professional environment.

Presented as “subsequent discharge”, it derives from discounts at pumps that for nine months helped the price of fuel. This new subsidy is a more specific measure. However, the fuel allowance was only claimed by 3 million people, according to Bruno Le Maire.

According to the Minister of Economy, 70% of the people who would be eligible have not yet applied for it. “Seven million can still request it,” he said Tuesday in Europe 1. Two requirements must be met: use a vehicle (car or two wheels) to go to work and have a reference tax income per share less than or equal to 14,700 euros per year .

Until February 28 to apply

Interested workers may make their request until February 28 by going to the tax office. Then they must enter their tax identification number, license plate and complete an affidavit stating that they need their car to get to work.

“The system is extremely simple, I have not had negative comments from those who have gone to register on the site of the General Directorate of Public Finance, but there are people who do not come looking for this help, I tell them to go and do it, it is a support for the purchasing power,” said Bruno Le Maire.

As a reminder, the subsidy is paid per individual and not per household, which means that it can be requested by two members of the same modest couple who need their own vehicle to work.
