But how do we explain that they are so few? Perhaps because among those who are entitled to it, some say that their income exceeds the limit set by the government.
1314 euros net salary per month in 2021 for a single person
This limit was set based on the reference tax base, a figure that remains abstract for most taxpayers. In addition, it is related to the 2021 income declared last year, which can lead to confusion, since it is the salaries received two years ago that are taken into account. In addition, the reference tax income is lower than the net salary since it takes into account the 10% that the tax authorities withdraw from earned income before calculating any tax to be paid.
The easiest way is, therefore, to look at what level the net salary limit is for 2021, to get a precise idea of the income limit from which access to this aid is lost. Examples, first of all, with taxpayers who do not have (or no longer have) dependent children. For a single person, the maximum monthly net salary in 2021 amounts to 1,314 euros, according to Bercy Services. And for a couple without children, if one of the two spouses was on minimum wage, the other could earn up to 1,408 euros net for being on the hook.

For children, these thresholds are even higher, as the tax share is fully taken into account when setting the income cap. We can take the following three examples of wages below which help is purchased.
For a couple with one child, if the first spouse was on minimum wage in 2021, the second could earn up to 2,065 euros net per month. With two children, the limit is even higher: 3,285 euros for a single mother. Equivalent amount for a family with two children.
