On the other side of the Atlantic, thousands of people would be willing to change their given names in exchange for lifetime snacks. Subway is preparing to offer unlimited sandwiches to one of its US customers who will agree to legally change his first name to “Subway.” According to the fast food chain, more than 10,000 people have applied in the United States. The name of the winner will be announced during the month of August, with nominations already closed.
The winner, if he legally changes his identity, will be able to benefit from free and unlimited sandwiches in the restaurants that have become homonymous. Subway also ensures that it will bear the legal and administrative expenses of the name change.

It is not the first time that the brand trusts its most unconditional customers to make people talk about it. In 2022, in Las Vegas, Subway had offered to offer unlimited sandwiches to a dozen people who agreed to tattoo a logo in its colors. One-month sandwiches for a small wrist or foot tattoo and one-year for a forearm or calf, and Lifetime Sandwiches for a large sternum or back tattoo.
