Students from secondary vocational training schools will receive a subsidy as of January 1, 2024 to enhance the training periods carried out in companies this year, according to a decree published this Saturday in the Official Gazette. In May, French President Emmanuel Macron announced the creation of this measure as part of the secondary vocational school reform, a campaign promise.
The provisions of the decree establishing this economic benefit will come into force on September 1, 2023. “The payment of the benefit by the Services and Payments Agency corresponding to the periods of training in the job position carried out in 2023 it will be produced from 2024.” according to the decree.
An amount that depends on the duration of training.
This aid is intended for students from professional institutes who are preparing a level 3 and 4 professional diploma (Professional Baccalaureate, CAP, in particular) and who have signed an internship agreement with the entity that hosts them during their training period in a professional environment. .
The amount of the bonus varies according to the type of training and the level of studies. It is calculated based on the number of days of the training period that the student has actually completed, multiplied by a daily rate corresponding to the degree and the year of training.
This package varies from 10 to 20 euros per day, specifies an order that also establishes, for each training and level of education, a maximum limit for this subsidy.
