Fuel prices: Emmanuel Macron will ask distributors to sell “at cost”

Faced with the increase in the cost of living, the President of the Republic wants to bring together fuel distributors to ask them to give up their margins.

Given the rise in fuel prices, the highest since the beginning of the year, the president wants to react. Guest of TF1 and France 2, Emmanuel Macron asks distributors to give up their margins. “Let no one make a margin,” he insists this Sunday night.

“We are going to ask that no one makes a margin and that we sell gasoline at cost,” said Emmanuel Macron. Élisabeth Borne announced last week the possibility of selling fuel at a loss. It has been banned since 1963.

After these first announcements, the distributors closed the door.
