According to ERSE – Entidade Reguladora dos Serviços Energéticos, natural gas rates for households on the regulated market will increase by 0.6% from this Sunday, compared to the prices charged in September.
According to the regulator, “consumers on the regulated market will see an average increase of 0.6% in the final retail price from October, compared to the prices in force in September”, and compared to the average price for the year for gas ( 2022-2023) “consumers on the regulated market will see an average increase in the final sales price of 1.3% from October (gas year 2023-2024).
This increase implies an average monthly increase of between ten and fifteen cents for the two most representative categories of customers, a married couple with two children and a married couple without children, respectively.
The rates for access to networks on the open market increase by 2.9% (high pressure) and 3.3% (medium and low) compared to the previous gas year.
Consumers with a social rate receive a 31.2% discount on transitional rates for sales to end customers.
Galp, in turn, will increase natural gas prices by an average of 4% from today, but will keep electricity prices unchanged until the end of the year, as an official source told Lusa in August.
EDP announced on September 8 that it would reduce the natural gas price by about 20% from today.
