Storm Ciaran: TER trains still stopped, TGV traffic little affected during weekend return

Transport Minister Clément Beaune assured that TER traffic in Hauts-de-France should restart during the day. For this weekend, TGV delays and cancellations should remain limited.

Railway traffic continued to be disrupted this Friday morning after the passage of Storm Ciaran and secondary depressions, Transport Minister Clément Beaune explained on France 2:

Resumption of TER traffic in the next few hours

In this region, SNCF teams are working to achieve a rapid return of service, the minister assured:

Delays and cancellations expected on TGV this weekend

As for those returning from the All Saints’ festivities this weekend, Clément Beaune indicated that disruptions should be limited, especially for the “million and a half people” who will take a TGV:

In general, “very few high-speed lines will be affected”, underlines Clément Beaune:

At the end of Thursday, the SNCF page dedicated to the consequences of the storm indicated that “the resumption of traffic will occur between Friday morning and Saturday morning, depending on the sector.”

“As the climatic episode has not ended, especially in Upper France and New Aquitaine, the SNCF Réseau teams remain mobilized. In these sectors, the visibility of a full recovery remains conditional on the end of the storm”, you can also read, with the call to travelers to “check the operation of their trains through their usual information channels.”
