Salary increases for civil servants for 2024, minimum 52.63 euros or 3%, with the basic salary being 821.83 euros, were published this Wednesday in Diário da República.
With effect from January 1 next year, Legislative Decree No. 108/2023 sets the value of the remuneration base for public administration (BRAP) at 821.83 euros, which provides for an increase of 52.63 euros for employees with salaries between 769, 20 and 1,754.49 euros. 3% for those earning a higher amount.
Now that the update has been published in Diário da República, The basic salary of public administrators next year will be approximately 1.8 euros above the value of the national minimum wage, which is set at 820 euros.
According to the Ministry of Finance, government salary increases next year will cost 847 million euros, covering approximately 746 thousand civil servants.
Total expenditure on salary increases, including raises, advancement, promotions and career reviews, will amount to 1,538 million euros in 2024.
