Lactalis announces a jump in the price paid to breeders and asks for an increase in the sale price of its products

The company argues that its tariffs in France increased by 18% in 2022 and that “the year 2023 promises to be even more difficult, in particular on the issue of energy”

Dairy giant Lactalis announced on Monday a 32% increase in the price of milk it pays to breeders and in the process demanded from big retailers an increase in the selling price of their products.

The owner of the Lactel brands, president of Roquefort Société, indicated that he had reached an agreement with Unell (National Union of Breeders Distributors of Lactalis) on the price of milk paid to associated producers, which is close to 500 euros/ 1,000 liters, 32% more than the same period in 2021”, for the fourth quarter.
