During a meeting with several ministers on Monday, the president “expressed his desire for visible improvements before the All Saints holidays,” BFMTV learned.

Four weeks after the start of the social movement in the refineries, and on the eve of a major strike in many sectors on Tuesday, the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron met several ministers on Monday. During this meeting, Emmanuel Macron “expressed his desire for visible improvements before the All Saints holidays”, BFMTV learned from a government source.

A decline of Emmanuel Macron?

The All Saints festivities are approaching and will begin this Saturday. But the declarations of the entourage of the President of the Republic show an evolution of the executive regarding the calendar of the next days.

In fact, on Wednesday, October 12, France 2, Emmanuel Macron spoke of a “return to normality for the next week”, either this Wednesday or Thursday. However, the negotiations between the management of Total and the CGT have not prospered: the strike continues at several refineries, and those close to the president only speak of “improvement in the situation.”

On Sunday, October 16, on the set of TF1, Elisabeth Borne assured that the situation at service stations “would improve” this week. “If there are very tense situations tomorrow, we will also carry out searches,” warned the prime minister.

This Monday, according to figures from the Ministry of Energy Transition, 28.1% of service stations are in difficulty nationwide, compared to 30.1% on Sunday.

In the most affected regions, 40.9% in Île-de-France (compared to 41.6% on Sunday), 37% in Center Val de Loire (compared to 42.8% on Sunday), 40, 5% in Bourgogne Franche-Comté (compared to 39.4%) and 36.3% in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes (compared to 37.9%).
