colossal loss
This cap was 100 TWh in 2021 and was raised to 120 TWh this year to help contain rising electricity prices on bills.
Plagued by nuclear power plants shut down for maintenance or corrosion problems, and due to this obligation to sell a large part of its nuclear production at low prices, EDF is heading this year for colossal losses.
It has already suffered a net loss of 5.3 billion euros in the first half.
