Five batches of Reblochon, from four different references, are being recalled due to the possible presence of the toxigenic bacteria Escherichia coli shiga (STEC), warns the Rappel Conso website.
The first batch concerns half-Reblochons AOP with raw milk of approximately 250 grams of the Producers and Traders (Intermarché) brand. This is batch 182V with a barcode of 3250391104475 and a best-before date of 4 September 2024. These products were sold between 20 July 2024 and 23 August 2024 by Intermarché stores throughout France.
A second batch consists of 240-gram PDO half-Reblochons made from raw milk from the Nos Régions ont du Talent (E.Leclerc) brand. This is batch 182V with a barcode of 3564709021249 and a best-before date of 4 September 2024. These products were sold between 31 July 2024 and 4 September 2024 in E.Leclerc stores throughout France.
A third batch concerns half-Reblochons made from raw milk with a designation of origin, weighing approximately 240 grams, from the Route de nos Régions (Intermarché) brand. This is batch 182V with a barcode of 3250392996390 and a best-before date of 4 September 2024. These products were sold between 25 July 2024 and 2 August 2024 by Intermarché stores throughout France.
A fourth batch and a fifth batch are AOP raw milk Reblochon from the Grancœur brand. These are batches 182 and 182V, with a best-before date of 2 October 2024. These products were distributed by the Gral company throughout France.
Do not consume
Consumers who have these products are advised not to consume them and return them to the point of sale, as well as to contact customer service.
People who have consumed these products and who experience “sometimes bloody diarrhea, abdominal pain and vomiting, accompanied or not by fever” in “the week following the consumption of contaminated products” are invited to consult their doctor “without delay,” notifying him of this consumption as well as the place and date of purchase,” Rappel Conso reported, specifying that the symptoms cited “may be followed (5 to 8% of cases) by serious kidney complications, mainly in children.
