The deputies of the Social Affairs Commission on Friday unanimously rejected the revenue part of the draft Social Security budget for 2025, thus tearing down the entire text.
Several key measures had already been eliminated this week. The commission had rejected the review of employer contributions and the freezing of retirement pensions, which the Government intended to generate four billion euros in savings each. The deputies also rolled back the spending target on health insurance, a pillar of the text. They will return to the chamber on Monday with the initial version of the bill.
