A Vinci subsidiary is being summoned to court on Wednesday “for a possible indictment” for its role in construction sites in Qatar for the World Cup, the company confirmed on Monday.
The French group assures that it will continue to collaborate with the justice system with the aim of making it known that the accusations in this regard are not justified.
Vinci says projects handed over to QDVC are not World Cup related
“The Vinci group confirms the summons on November 9 by the investigating judge of Nanterre, of its subsidiary Vinci Construction Grands Projets with a view to a possible indictment (…),” Vinci said in a press release. “Since 2015, Vinci has vigorously refuted the accusations made against it in connection with construction sites in Qatar,” he adds.
Vinci specifies that the accusations refer to working conditions on construction sites in Qatar led by the company QDVC, in which Vinci Construction Grands Projets has a 49% stake.
Vinci said on Monday that the projects entrusted to QDVC are not linked to the World Cup and are “essentially related to transport infrastructure.”
