Why did you create the CDR construction company?
Two entrepreneurs historically established in Allier asked me 10 years ago. Specialized mainly in structural work, they wanted to expand their activities and needed a regional structure to carry this project. I could help them establish it thanks to my knowledge of the profession and the management of operations of all trades, acquired during my first part of the professional career. So I supported the creation and development of this construction company.
CDR Construction responds to all types of tenders, be it general businesses, design markets or global performance markets. In this context, our architectural partners, design offices, operators, experts … and our company collaborate to offer solutions adapted to the programs and expectations of our clients, both in aesthetics, use, technical and performance, especially energy.
The year 2025 marks our tenth anniversary, the company will celebrate this important limit with an event with our clients and partners, scheduled for next June. We will also take the opportunity to give a new impulse to our communication both for the evolution of our logo and for the modernization of our website.
How do you distinguish from other structures?
Our daily work values are based on great humility, rigor, pragmatism, seriousness and daring to always shoot our offers and the realization of our projects. The diversity of our projects allows us to better adapt to the evolution and the cycle of our market, agility is essential in an activity carried out only in the decision and the desire to invest in our clients. Construction is not a consumer product!
We also appreciate the variety of projects and customers, because it enriches the skills and knowledge of our employees. This assembly in experience strengthens our ability to adapt to market developments and effectively respond to the expectations of our partners.
Can you tell us more about the support of CDR construction daily?
As a project representative, CDR Construction is the only interlocutor of its clients. We support them at each stage, their first ideas or data until the work is carried out.
In the public market, we respond to the calls of tenders strictly supervised by the public procurement code. Our mission is to offer a rigorous and relevant response, while promoting our experience and makes our project the solution chosen by the client.
In the private market, the relationship focuses on proximity. Some clients have a clear vision of their need, but they cannot make it happen alone. The agility of CDR construction allows them to structure their project and give life. We support them in the long term to guarantee an achievement according to their expectations.
In parallel, CDR Promotion, our real estate promotion company offers full and dynamic support to carry out real estate projects. We do not limit the fate of the developed projects (residential, tertiary, industrial, etc.) is the need for the market or our clients that guides us. In the promotion area we do not want volume, but objectives when associating the desire to build them with the construction of CDR.
Give us examples of projects in which CDR Construction works
Our activities are very diverse. Our approach is multidisciplinary and multiplied, which allows us to meet the diverse needs of our clients by providing adequate solutions.
As part of the realization of public procurement, our current news is related, among other things, with the realization of the News Exhibition Center in the name of the Nevers Aglomeration, project in the design production that will be delivered in September 2025.
CDR Construction also has the energy renewal of the Teilhard-de-Chardin College in Chamalières for the Puy-de-Dôme Departmental Council, through a world performance market. This site made by phase in an employed site will be completed at the end of 2026.
In our private market activity, we carry out a higher service residence of 114 housing units in Moulins, where we are an associated promoter in Aegide Domithys. CDR CONSTRUCTION provides all TCE work in a promoter-constructive model. This residence will be delivered in the second quarter of 2026.
We also renew two hotels in Vichy, in the TCE labor market on behalf of the thermal operator, France Thems. The delivery is underway and is scheduled for the beginning of 2026 for the second.
Finally, we are developing all the office platforms of the body of states on behalf of the Turing 22 operator in the Colllalling Innovation Pole (PIC) project on the Michelin Cataroux site in Clermont-Ferrand. Important and innovative project, whose delivery will be effective at the end of 2025.
These few examples of our current activity obviously demonstrate by the places of realization of our regional geographical anchor, as well as our agility towards market diversity with very varied contractual attribution modes.
Do you see changes in your customers’ expectations?
Clearly, there is a general orientation against the challenges of energy renewal and CSR. Many customers, especially public, wonder about the future of their inheritance. It is often aging and lack of renewal that has increased over time. Therefore, two approaches are emerging: opt for a new project or improve the energy performance of existing buildings.
Current urban planning restrictions promote the second option, with a growing desire to limit urban expansion. Therefore, the trend is to optimize the earth, rehabilitating existing structures or adapting them by limiting the impact of earthly imprint.
In addition, this second option, for our clients, which tend to promote energy renewal, results in a source of potential and future economy in the management of their assets, an important factor that they consider in their investment decisions. Instead of rebuilding, energy renewal, therefore, becomes a priority and leads to the appearance of global performance markets. In these projects, we are systematically challenged to reach a reduction of 30 to 40 % of energy consumption after work, thus generating significant long -term substantial savings.
As for our internal actions, the construction of CDR also involves a proactive CSR approach when working in our organization and reducing our carbon footprint: a more responsible management of our vehicle fleet, works on the decrease in our emissions, etc.
In conclusion, how will artificial intelligence affect your activity?
The technological evolution of our professions has already pushed us to integrate new tools, such as the digital model to synthesize our projects. From now on, AI and its advances are gradually imposed as a work facilitator:
- On the one hand, to optimize some of our tasks and our work organization;
- On the other hand, in the development of projects, provided that all actors share the same dynamic and dominate the use of AI to draw a real added value.
The AI will eventually facilitate our internal work, according to the specific needs of a project: carry out a regulatory summary adapted to the context of a site, to generate summaries of technical documents, facilitate and organize our classifications, emails, etc. And more generally, to optimize the working time of our teams.
The challenge is also to integrate the AI in a collaboration application that brings together the actors in the construction act, architects, design offices, manufacturer … so that everyone can work in a common dynamic.
However, as any modernity tool, its good use will be essential with particularly our ability to analyze the answers provided by AI that will later become a strategic lever to improve project management and strengthen our collective efficiency.
