The manager of the Portuguese Electricity Network denied on Tuesday that it was the source of a press release assigned to it on social networks and referred to a “rare atmospheric phenomenon” to explain the causes of the huge power cut that affected Portugal and Spain on Monday.
There is no “unusual” phenomenon
The press release in question, written in Portuguese, distributed Monday on social networks and was made by certain important international media. According to this text, the failure of the electricity that sank the Iberian Peninsula in chaos for several hours would have been caused by “a failure in the Spanish electricity network, linked to a rare atmospheric phenomenon.” This “phenomenon” was then described as an “induced atmospheric vibration.”
