A year after having signed a protocol in June 2024, the Armament Manufacturers Lockheed Martin and Rheinmetall crossed a new tape, announcing the construction of a factory for the production of missiles and rockets in Germany.
The two industrialists aim to build a “European Excellence Center”, which will be directed by Rheinmetall, mainly in the name of Germany and “other European countries.”
The vice president in charge of the international in Lockheed Martin, Ray Piselli, highlights the creation of jobs in Europe and the United States.
The American weapons giant and the German team supplier had already launched cooperation in 2023 in the field of long -lived artillery, jointly developing a system of multi -gm harsts. Presented at the Earth’s Earth Armament Show In June 2024, the system must be the object of an event this summer to dismantle its shooting capabilities.
Meanwhile, Germany has finally chosen to equip with the European system, developed by the Israeli Elbit systems in association with KNDS Germany.

The decision must still be approved by the German and American governments, but this creation signs a new stage in the Lockheed Martin establishment strategy in the European continent.
The European anchor has developed remarkably thanks to the F-35 program, selected by Germany, Belgium, Denmark, Greece, Italy, Norway, Netherlands, Poland, Finland and Switzerland.
The American industrialist is already associated with Rheinmetall for the production of the central fuselage of the American combat plane in the German soil, as well as a final assembly site in Italy, in association with Leonardo.
Still in the aeronautical field, Lockeed Martin has built a training center at the Evreux Air Base for pilots and mechanics of the German Transport Squadron of Super Hercules C/KC-130J.
An association with Poland has allowed the establishment of the production site for Black Hawk helicopters, sub-consumption of the F-16 combat plane, Himar systems, as well as pieces for air defense and antimile defense systems.
In the Naval field, Lockheed Martin concluded an association with Navantia in Spain to join its Aegis weapons system in the Spanish and Norwegian marine frigates.
The weapons giant has also developed associations with the Norwegian industrialist Kongsberg, for the maintenance of F-35 but also for the development of the TPY-4 radar that must equip the Norwegian armed forces.
