More than two years after the promulgation of pension reform, and a few days before the end of the conclave on pensions, the CGT demands strike and demonstrations, this Thursday, June 5, to request the abrogation of the reform, but also better salaries and the end of austerity for public services.
About 165 meeting points are planned in France. In Paris, the procession will begin at 2 PM from the Military School and must pass near the place where the pension consultation continues.
This mobilization day takes place in parallel with the adoption in the National Assembly of a resolution aimed at repealing the pension reform, deposited by the RDA group (communists and ultra marinas), within the framework of its parliamentary “niche”.
This resolution, which was adopted with the voices of the left and the RN, has no normative value. However, communists hope to make it a political lever to relive the dispute.
Interruptions in transport, school reception, etc.
SNCF employees and several urban transport networks said they would respond to the strike call released by the CGT. Train and delays in the SNCF network are expected. In Paris, disturbances are planned in the RER B. in Nice, no tram or bus will travel this Thursday.
In addition, the manifestations declared in many cities of France may generate alterations in transport, including deviations. A CGT card lists planned demonstrations.
This strike, whose call was transmitted by CGT education, is also promised to continue in teaching. Therefore, some teachers will be absent. In primary and maternal school, parents were notified of the presence or not of their child’s teacher, since the latter must notify their participation in the strike in advance.
In the university and high school, on the other hand, nothing forces teachers to notice their participation in the strike. In addition, the operation of school canteens and extracurricular reception will also be interrupted in several municipalities due to the participation in the agents strike.
A call to interprofessional strike
The CGT strike call was also transmitted by its state branch and, therefore, will be followed by certain officials, which could have an impact on public services this Thursday. CGT’s health branch and social action has also requested mobilization.
All public and private employees can also participate in this strike if they wish, because it is an interprofessional strike. Four youth organizations, FAGE, UNEF, Union Student Union and Union Union Lycéenne, also require mobilization between students and high school students.
