“We have electricians, dentists …”: These little entrepreneurs want to create a professional cycling team with the Tour de France online in view

Released in 2024, “My Small Business” aims to launch two professional cycling teams, male and female, fully financed by VSES and SME. Objective: Participate in the Tour of France in the coming years. To achieve this, the founders of the project requested the experience of Vincent Lavue, founder and former head of the famous AG2R team.

Do not wait to see them in the Tour de France this year, it is still a bit early. But participating in the Big Loop is the ambition of the creators of “My Small Business” who have embarked on the challenge of creating a professional cycling team of A Z. Particularity: the project would be completely financed by SMEs and Vse that in return can obtain unexpected visibility.

The bet is daring, “a little crazy”, even recognizes Michaël Amand, one of the founders of “My Small Business” launched in 2024. Originally, Emeric Ducruet, manager of two SMEs with thirty employees in Savoy, who offers the idea: “We want to create the TPE and squad that participates in the creation of a professional team.”

Director of the Communication Agency, developer, pattern of a consulting company for the purchase of bicycles of individuals … now they are eight years to have joined the adventure. Everyone shares business fiber and especially love for cycling. “We do this in addition to our work, it’s passion,” said Michaël Amand.

Entrance ticket to 750 euros

With “My Small Business”, Michaël Amand and his associates want to offer SMEs and vSes the possibility of investing in professional cycling, for the time that is essentially sponsored by very large groups.

Companies that wish to contribute to the creation of the cycling team can do so from 750 euros per year or opt for higher levels (1,500 euros per year, 5,000 euros per year, 15,000 euros per year …). The higher the amount invested, the greater the advantages: having the name of your company in the shirt of the future team, receiving all the teams (sweater, thigh -thears, socks, cycling), having more visibility in the social networks of the team, attend purchases …

But companies are invited above all to integrate the “passion” collective already expand their network. “We offer a different economic model, a model that does not exist” and that intends to “highlight all these small boxes that make the French economy be maintained,” continues Michaël Amand.

500,000 euros in promises

This challenge more than he dared seems to seduce the general public: “We are very supported on the networks. There is a side of Franceld, a side of Asterix, the little ones against the big ones, even if we are not against anyone,” says Michaël Amand. However, the equipment logo has nothing to do with the famous Gauls, since it is a … bee. A wink to your commitment to donate 10% of racing bonds to finance hives.

The project has not yet collected all the necessary funds to be materialized. He received 500,000 euros at this stage in promises of several hundred companies and artisans who often participate in investments between 750 and 1,500 euros per year.

“These are companies from all sectors. We have electricians, dentists, landscapes, industry people, liberal nurses,” said Michaël Amand, added that they are also under discussion with the “most substantial” companies lists to pay 100,000 euros.

“My Little Business” on the Tour de France Women of 2026?

With these 500,000 euros promised, “My Small Business” reached a third of the first target set, namely a budget of 1.5 million euros next year. Then, the founders hope to reach 5 million in 2027 and between 20 and 30 million euros in 5 years. If they succeed, the first step will be to launch a 12 -running women’s team in Pro Tour (Second Division) Before not being invited in 2026 to the women of the Tour de France. The male team will come in second place with the ambition to run in the Big Loop in 2030.

Whenever he succeeds in finding talents. To put the probabilities on his side, “My Small Business” has had a prestigious godfather for a few months: Vincent Lavue, former cyclist, founder and former head of the famous AG2R La Mondiale team.

Also associated with the project, Cédric Noël, president of the Grenoble Metropole Cycling 38, will also contribute their experience to identify promising cyclists. “We also use the data to identify female performance. We mix the experience in the field with data analysis,” said Michaël Amand.

“My Small Business” hopes to send a file to Union Cycling International (ICU) in the coming months to officially launch your team. The project has already been presented to the organization with headquarters in Switzerland two weeks ago: “Both are seduced because we offer something new and at the same time that they are surprised because they are not accustomed to this type of initiative,” he welcomes Michaël Amand.
