The Trump administration has concluded a commercial agreement with Indonesia, which provides customs tariffs established in 19% for Indonesian exports to the United States, while American products imported in the archipelago will be exempt.

Before leaving the White House, he told the press that the archipelago was going to “give (in the United States, note of the editor) full access” to its domestic market, without the slightest correct custom, while Indonesian products will be taxed up to 19% when entering the United States.

Donald Trump also emphasized the importance of copper produced by Indonesia, while the US president wants to establish duties of sectoral customs in this metal.

In a new message published later in Truth Social, the US President said that the agreement significantly establishes the acquisition of the fifty -air manufacturer’s indonesia Boeing, in particular “many” of 777, the great bearer of Bicoulirir of the aircraft manufacturer.

Indonesia promised July 8 to import more American agricultural and oil products, to try to love Washington to avoid too brutal increase in customs tariffs applied to their products.

Donald Trump had threatened Yakarta to impose a customs surcharge of 32% if no commercial agreement was signed before August 1.

Indonesian Economy Minister Arlanga Hartarto had gone to Washington to negotiate the agreement in early July, announcing in the process the purchase of American agricultural products and oil products, without specifying the amount of these purchases.

However, he said that Indonesian companies would commit to spending a total of $ 34 billion.

According to the official figures of the United States, the United States has registered in 2024 a commercial deficit of $ 17.9 billion (16.2 billion euros) with Indonesia, 5.4% more compared to 2023.

The US president had announced his “reciprocal” customs tasks that are described in early April, before stopping a game, now just a 10%floor rate.

Then he announced that he wanted to obtain several dozen commercial agreements during the break of the break, 90 days, which extended until August 1.

But so far, only two agreements were announced, with the United Kingdom and Vietnam, when the White House had assured that it can register up to 90.

About twenty countries have received a White House letter since the beginning of July announcing the taxes of customs tariffs between 20 and 40% for most countries and even 50% for Brazilian products. These surcharges will apply on August 1.

Indonesia also signed a “political agreement” with the European Union (EU) on Sunday, whose objective is to soften commercial barriers, the conclusion of the negotiations began in 2016 with the aim of increasing trade and investments on both sides.

The Indonesian President, Pabowo, submits Brussels for the signing of the agreement, had called it as “progress”, “after 10 years of negotiations.”
