Parisian meters … again in green. After three difficult years, the MATP published a gain of 153 million euros in the first half on Wednesday, especially thanks to an improvement in the service and sale of its deficit activity in London’s buses.
The billing of the public transport group increased by 13% for one year, to 3.9 billion euros, with the effect of line extensions such as lines 11 and 14 of the Metro in Paris and the implementation of the main contracts in other places (Lyon, Caen or Riad in Saudi Arabia).
“The Ratp group has a basis of stabilized and assault activities to better serve everyday travelers and continue their development, in France and internationally. The results of the first half, which are clearly improving it,” said Jean Castex.
The group had undergone 129 million euros in losses in the first half of 2023, and 54 million in the first half of 2024. The ratp benefits of the new contract concluded in mid-July with Mobilités Ile-de-France, which provides significant investments and have had retroactive effects in the first half.

The quality of the service has improved, as the problems of absenteeism and, therefore, the Ratp benefited from “less refection”, that is, for the reduction of prices in the case of non-conforming services “and more bonus” as part of their contracts, said financial director Jean-Yves Leclercq during an online press conference.
The Régie also sold its bus activities in London in February, thus saving thirty million euros in the semester. And renegotiated their bus contract with the Italian region of Tuscany.
He also saved about twenty million euros thanks to the fall in energy costs. The group’s subsidiaries continue to increase in power and now represent 31% of the group’s turnover, against 27% in the first half of 2024, as well as 28,500 employees, against 43,500 for the parent company.
This part of the subsidiaries must still progress with the opening of the ILE bus networks -Ofing the competition. The subsidiary of Ratp Cap Ile-de-France won around three quarters of the lines at stake and awaits a final allocation wave for Parisian buses.
