It is the third in a few weeks. ALSTOM wins a new contract to provide rolling equipment, this time for the Lyon Metro. The transport giant announces that a contract of more than 300 million euros with Sytral Mobilités, which includes the supply of 26 new trains for line D (145 million euros), as well as the renewal of the automatic management system (158 million euros).
In service in 1991, line D was automated the following year. 13 kilometers long, is the busiest line in the agglomeration of Lyon, with 300,000 daily travelers. The start -up date of the equipment has not been announced.
It will be equipped with MPL25 trains, compatible and interoperable with the trains of line B. Alstom highlights the improved comfort thanks to the bay windows, the ventilation system or even the information screens, while claiming that trains will be less energy.
Train production and the renewal of automatic pilot systems will mobilize seven Alstom sites in France.
Alstom earned a mega contract of 2 billion euros at the beginning of July to provide suburban trains to New York City, registered in June a contract of 1.7 billion euros to provide 96 additional RER trains, register an order to equip the Sao Paulo Metro and sign a contract of 600 million euros to provide 35 interregional trains to Bulgaria.
