Berlin supports the TKM division, the Naval Branch of Thyssenkrupp, one of the rare profitable subsidiaries of the group that produces submarines and military frigates

In search of profitability, the Thyssenkrupp conglomerate must validate the Division of the TKMS subsidiary, which produces remarkably submarines and military frigates. The German government supports this project, which must still be validated by an extraordinary assembly of shareholders.

It is a weight support. The German government supports the Naval Division TKMS of the Naval Division TKMS of the Thyssenkrupp conglomerate, asked to play a greater role in the European defense, said the president of the Group’s Supervision Board on Monday, upstream of an assembly to approve the operation.

This must confirm the dismantling of the ESSEN group (West) in crisis, which wants to relive several of its activities, including maritime division.

It is one of the few that are still profitable, while the steel, the car and the materials continue to raise the results.

An operation for more “visibility” and “flexibility”

With its submarines and military frigates, TKMS is positioned as a central actor in the modernization of European and allied naval fleets, with several orders made with the German, Norwegian, Israeli and Singapurense army.

The division or “spin-off”, which provides the 49 % distribution of TKMS shares to Thyssenkrupp shareholders, opens the way to an OPI for the end of the year.

Within the MDAX index in Frankfurt, the Thyssenkrupp AG action launched 2.26%, 9.67 euros, around 1:00 pm GMT.

The operation should provide more “visibility” and “flexibility” for TKM, so that it plays “an active role in the expected consolidation of the European Defense industry,” said Miguel López, president of the Thyssenkrupp Management Board, in his speech also online on Monday.

Since October, TKMS has increased its volume of orders by 50%, to more than 18 billion euros.
