“We will make sure that our farmers are in good shape”: Donald Trump wants to donate part of the income of customs tasks in the agricultural world

Donald Trump has a gesture for American farmers who will suffer the effects of customs duties and announces that he wants to donate a part of the revenues collected.

He wants to be generous. The president of the United States, Donald Trump, said Thursday that he was ready to donate part of the new customs rights to American farmers to compensate for losses that may be linked to this protectionist policy.

“We will make sure that our farmers are in good shape,” he added.

He also acknowledged that, “for a while”, the American farmers were going to “suffer” the situation around customs tasks, but that they will earn “in the end much money” thanks to this policy.

From his return to power in January, Donald Trump has implemented, in several waves, a new surcharge in products that enter the United States. These vary from 10 to 50%, depending on situations and countries.

Experts in the agricultural market point out that, since this protectionist offensive, China has been drastically reduced in reprisals of its American soybeans purchases.

New taxes on agricultural products can also make agricultural equipment more expensive. Géant John Deere recently said that customs duties would have an additional cost of almost $ 600 million this year.
