McDonald’s will give away lifetime dining cards at its restaurants

The fast food brand launches a contest in the United States for users of the McDonald’s application. Three winners randomly drawn in the country will receive a “gold card” that will give them access to free meals at the brand for 50 years.

It is a competition worthy of the novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Starting December 5 in the United States, McDonald’s will give away three McGold cards to randomly drawn customers. It will be enough for them to place an order of at least 1 dollar from the application of the sign.

An object of fantasy, sometimes described as an urban legend, the McGold map exists. It allows its holder to eat for free at one or more restaurants of the chain.

In 2018, McDonald’s had already issued some cards during a contest, but the winner was only eligible for two free meals a week for 50 years, recalls CNN. This rule also applies to this year’s contest.

Warren Buffet and Bill Gates have your card

Unlike Burger King, which distributes BK Crown Cards (Meals for Life at Burger King) to celebrities to attract them to its restaurants, McDonald’s does not have an equivalent loyalty program. McGolds are issued on a case-by-case basis in exceptional circumstances.

The only owners of McGold cards in the United States are illustrious clients of the brand such as billionaires Bill Gates and Warren Buffett. The latter had confirmed it on CNBC a few years ago:

Therefore, three Americans may be taken by Warren Buffett next December. At least at McDonald’s.
