This is the fear of hundreds of thousands of homes this winter: without power for several hours. With the arrival of cold weather, the government no longer rules out power outages during the winter. Enedis, an EDF subsidiary responsible for the management and development of 95% of the electricity distribution network in France, has launched a site so that the French can find out if their home will be affected.
To find out if your street is affected by a possible loss of cargo, simply enter your address into the search engine.
Tips in case of cut
Enedis also gives several tips to adopt to anticipate a possible cut. “As much as possible, cut off the power of sensitive devices before the time slot that presents a risk of exceptional cuts,” it can be read, for example, on the site.
“Patients at high vital risk” may also be affected, such as people placed in a respiratory apparatus with an autonomy of less than four hours. But a protocol is planned by Enedis, which collaborates with the ARS “that gives you the list of patients at high vital risk to have an organization that guarantees patient safety in the event of a cut, foreseeable or not.”
Finally, for municipalities that are not covered by Enedis, a map published on the website of the Energy Network Operators (ORE) agency allows you to find out your local distribution company.
