Combine training and hiring
Specialist of the training in the fields of transport of dealers or voyageurs, logistics and BTP, Assifep s’est fixé pour mission d’accompagner agences, employeurs et chercheurs d’emploi dans le processus de formation et de retour sur le Work market. The Hauts-de-France company trains 16,000 apprentices a year, with the help of 58 full-time trainers and 10 temporary workers in all its areas.
Assifep has set up an employment service that works closely with Pôle Emploi and local missions to search for candidates and the needs of companies to train them in the best possible way in the transport, logistics and construction trades. This service represents 12% of its workforce. To deal with the shortage of personnel in these sectors, the company is committed to active recruitment, followed by comprehensive training in the chosen sector. It has also gone digital and allows candidates to train at their own pace thanks to an available e-learning platform.
“Given the growing demand, Temporary companies are forced to train people and come to us for help. Our added value is that we train them but at the same time we look for the candidates ourselves”indicate Grégory Monthuel, General Manager, and Laurent Prévost, President.
A market under pressure
With the rise of e-commerce, the market is in constant tension. The thriving transport sector is showing an exponential demand for hiring shopkeepers, order pickers and, above all, drivers. The company has installed a driving simulator in its facilities, has invested in new coaches, to quickly train in the new equipment and make future employees independent, productive and operational.
Assifep also wants to develop an “IN” department: a recruiter and a trainer will be established directly in a company. This allows prospects to be trained in the company tools they will integrate and learn its values. Finally, Assifep intends to develop video channels for its various divisions: both to develop communication and to facilitate its recruitment methods through the employment service, in particular thanks to 100% video recruitment.
Today, 43% of French people feel uninformed about vocational training, yet an Empowill study carried out in 2022 indicates that 64% of those responsible for training believe that in 2021, training has gone from being “pleasant to have” to a “need to have”. . Therefore, training organizations have a bright future ahead of them.
