“We have to mobilize.” Invited this Friday on RMC and BFMTV, Philippe Martínez called on the French to protest against the pension reform on January 19. “For the day of the 19th to be successful – and I am convinced that it will be successful – millions of people are needed on strike and in the streets”, declared the general secretary of the CGT.
According to him, the mobilization promises to be strong when “there are already in the companies (…) reflections on strikes of renewables and not only in Total, SNCF or RATP, which are the companies that are regularly listed. “I am in favor of the workers going on strike, then they are the ones who decide the forms of action,” continued the union leader, warning that January 19 is only “the first meeting”, which means that “there will be others”. . “.
Martínez asks Borne to “assume its responsibilities”
Philippe Martínez also denounced the “absolutely scandalous” statements by Elisabeth Borne, who on Thursday called on the unions “not to penalize the French” with their protest actions. “Who worries the French? (…) She is the one who should have thought before launching this reform. She is the one who sets the fire. She cannot say that she has not warned us,” stressed the head of the plant Montreuil Electric.
And always add about the Prime Minister: “Let her assume her responsibilities. That it does not return the responsibility to the union organizations for the mobilization that can take place”.
