Actions “Robin Hood”: the CGT claims to have “placed free light” HLM and hospitals

Faced with the pension reform, the CGT has decided to make energy “a fighting tool” and carry out several actions this Thursday. “Positive throughout the territory to lead us to victory,” justifies the union.

Free gas or electricity for schools, HLM or hospitals, recovery of cut users: strikers in the energy sector staged several actions of the so-called “Robin Hood” on Thursday to “intensify the balance of power” in the fight against the pension reform , according to the CGT.

Throughout the day of this strike, they have carried out “massively” this type of action in the Paris region, “in Lille, Nantes, Lyon, Nice, Marseille, Saint-Nazaire” and elsewhere in the rest of France, he said. on the set of BFMTV Sébastien Menesplier, general secretary of the CGT Mines Energie.

According to a statement“various hospitals or clinics, ice rinks and municipal swimming pools, public sports centers, public interest associations, libraries, schools, institutes, nurseries, collective heating systems for universities or HLM, lighting for small and medium-sized municipalities, social housing”. therefore, they have been “placed with free electricity or gas.”

“This is just the beginning”

On the contrary, “small shops and artisans (bakers or others) or small companies” have obtained a reduced energy rate. Finally, users “cut off from electricity or gas despite the winter break, by unscrupulous providers”, would have seen their access restored according to the union.

“This is just the beginning: we can do ‘Robin Hood’ actions at any time,” warned Fabrice Coudour, who calls for further broadening of the movement to “build a great January 31,” the date of the next national mobilization against government project. .

The strikers, according to Sébastien Menesplier, did not carry out selective power cuts on Thursday, this option being “not relevant”. The CGT had proposed closing the gas and electricity taps to the communes of elected representatives in favor of the reform, which the government had condemned.

“There will be selective cuts if the agents decide on them in general meetings,” and they want to go “beyond the strike,” he added.
