A Made.com-style episode with a French company? The situation is not exactly the same, but the difficulties some Cuisinella customers are facing are similar to those experienced by the British online furniture retailer.
Following a bankruptcy, an independent franchisee abruptly closed four franchised stores in January, three of which were in Seine-et-Marne, in Chelles, Pontault-Combault and Chanteloup-en-Brie, the latest in Rosny-sous-Drink.
“No one told us”
A drop of water in front of the 309 stores that make up the Cuisinella network. Still, many customers find themselves in a delicate situation after paying a deposit, sometimes several thousand euros, when placing their order. Some have found out about the store closure by chance, like this customer.
“My kitchen was to be delivered on February 27. One Sunday I had a flash. I wanted to go back to the store to confirm the delivery date,” Fulvia explained to actu.fr. But she finds the doors closed, with a sign announcing the closure of the store. But she paid 3200 euros down payment.
The matrix assures that this episode “does not reflect anything on the general health of the group” and evokes a growing billing. She makes sure that all other customers are not affected by any store closing.
No surcharge applied
Good news for injured customers, they will continue to receive their kitchen thanks to a “Cuisinella” guarantee that is included in their contract. This clause specifies that in case of bankruptcy of a store, the urbanization project is carried out by Cuisinella under the same price conditions. Deposits paid in advance will be taken into account and no additional cost will apply.
If there is therefore a guarantee of delivery, there is none due to the term, on the other hand. Cuisinella indicates that the processing of orders must follow a series of procedures that can take time.
