The United States Supreme Court rejected, this Monday, October 6, the appeal of Ghislaine Maxwell against his sentence to 20 years in prison for sexual exploitation.
Ghislaine Maxwell was, in the past, the ‘girlfriend’ Jeffrey Epstein, an American sexual businessman and predator found dead on August 10, 2019 in his cell in the New York Metropolitan Correctional Center.
Arrested on July 2, 2020 by the FBI, Ghislaine Maxwell, who is now 63 years old, was accused of trafficking in minors. It was declared guilty and sentenced, in 2022, to 20 years in prison for recruiting between 1994 and 2004 minor girls for Epstein to exploit them sexually.
In an unwindling decision, the court rejects the appeal of Ghislaine Maxwell to obtain the cancellation of the procedures that led to his conviction. The Ministry of Justice opposed this appeal last July.
“Make a deviation”
Ghislaine Maxwell’s lawyer had criticized the Ministry of Justice several weeks ago for “being diverted by a sordid and subject of the acts of Jeffrey Epstein.”
“This issue refers to what the government has promised, not what Epstein did,” he said.
He argued with an agreement concluded in 2007 between the federal prosecutor of Florida (Southeast) and Jeffrey Epstein under which only the latter would be prosecuted, believing that this agreement should have avoided the New York federal prosecutor’s office from then on instilling in his client.
However, the Ministry of Justice has recently changed its tone towards Ghislaine Maxwell. The number two of the Ministry, Todd Blanche, former personal lawyer of Donald Trump, was at the end of July until he went to Tallahassee, the capital of Florida, where he purges his sentence, to interrogate him for a day and a half.
The death of Jeffrey Epstein, found hanging in his cell in New York, on August 10, 2019 before his judgment for sexual crimes, fed countless conspiracy theories that was killed to quell a scandal of leading personalities.
Donald Trump, who for months has promised his base of destroying revelations in this file, underwent a flame return, even in his own camp, since his government announced in July 2025 not having discovered any new element that justifies the publication of additional documents.
