The fight against tax evasion carried out in 2022 should contribute 14.6 billion euros to public finances in France, announced Gabriel Attal in the columns of the Parisian. A “record” according to the Delegate Minister of Public Accounts who specifies that of that sum, “almost 9,000 million” euros in recovery come from companies.
“There are 1,200 million euros more than in 2021, which was already a record year,” he added, “it is a lot, almost double the budget of the Ministry of Justice.”
One in two AI-guided tax audits
Gabriel Attal assures that tax officials are “more efficient than ever” and increasingly rely on new technologies to fight fraud.
“For the first time, more than one in two tax audits was guided by artificial intelligence, which makes it possible to identify anomalies thanks to the crossing of data”, continues Gabriel Attal in the Parisian.
At the same time, the minister assured that Bercy was attacking social fraud, CAF fraud or even customs fraud: “all fraud is reprehensible and scandalizes the French”.
