TAP has already issued instructions to recover the amount paid to Alexandra Reis

TAP has already instructed its lawyers to refund the fee paid to Alexandra Reis and says its trustees acted “in good faith” in the process, according to the carrier’s contradiction to the IGF audit.

In the document, released today as part of the publication of the audit report by the Inspectorate General of Finance (IGF), TAP reported that it has “already communicated to representatives” of Alexandra Reis “through its lawyers” its intention to reimbursement of the full payment of the amount which shall be indicated by this General Inspectorate in its final report approved by the Government”.

According to the audit report, Alexandra Reis will have to repay a total of 450,110.26 euros of the compensation that TAP has paid her.

The carrier also said that, “with a view to improving its internal processes and advising governing bodies on matters such as verifying compliance with rules and regulations, TAP is in the process of identifying and recruiting a ‘compliance officer'”.

The company notes that it “maintains its own institutional perspective in this context and would not fail to point out its belief that the chairman of the board of directors [Manuel Beja] and Ms. Chief Executive Officer [Christine Ourmières-Widener procederam de boa-fé”.
