According to the latest study carried out by Pôle emploi on labor needs in France, 31% of companies plan to hire in 2023, that is, just over 3 million potential hires. Of these, more than half correspond to jobs with an indefinite contract (54.3%).
On the first step of the podium – the waiters of cafes and restaurants. According to the study, the profession of waiter is the most sought after by companies, with 122,200 potential hires in 2023. The health crisis, said Stéphane Ducatez, deputy director general in charge of the Pôle emploi network, during a press conference.
Winegrowers, arboriculturists and collectors follow closely, but it involves “a lot of seasonal work”, explains Stéphane Ducatez. Apprentices and kitchen employees rank third with nearly 110,000 potential hires in 2023.
Small businesses in the lead
The services sector accounts for 62% of contracting projects (including 38.3% personal services and 23.6% business services), well ahead of commerce (12.2%), industry (9, 3%), construction (8.6%) and agriculture (8.1%). %).
It is mainly small companies that open their doors to newcomers: 49% of recruitment projects are carried out by companies with less than 10 employees and 22% by companies with 10 to 49 employees. In addition, only companies with less than 10 employees show an increase in the number of contracting projects in 2023 compared to the previous year (+4.9%), unlike the rest of the companies. In companies with more than 200 employees, the number of recruitment projects even plummeted by 8.4%.
On the territorial side, the dynamics vary greatly from one region to another.
